Tuition Fees and Cost of Studying in Argentina
Tuition fees are very inexpensive and economical in Argentine public universities, particularly when compared to the majority of North American and European study destinations abroad. Tuition fees cost more at private universities in Argentina, as a general matter, and differ widely between courses.
Despite the fact that private universities pay higher tuition fees compared to public universities, they are relatively moderate and fair, especially in Europe, compared to other advanced study destinations. Such costs can vary annually from ARS 8,000 to 24,000 (US$1,000-$3,000).
Costs of Living in Argentina
Living costs in Argentina are comparatively poor. Food and other important products are sold at extremely low prices. Therefore, as a foreign student, if you spend between US$ 900-$1,000 per year, your housing, books, travel, etc would certainly be taken care of. In addition to their studies, foreign students can work only if they qualify for all the legal requirements for obtaining a work permit and being granted legal residence in the country.
How to Apply and Admission Requirements
Argentina’s academic year runs from March to November. International students would have to explicitly submit their applications to the institution where they choose to learn their courses. They will need to show copies of school certificates, too.
You need to know Spanish because it is the language that is widely used by the people there and in which all university courses are carried out. When their acceptance is certain, foreign students then apply for a student visa, renewed every 2 years.

Are Universities Free in Argentina?
In public schools, institutions, and universities, all levels of education in Argentina are eligible. Since 1949, this legislation has been enforced because they agree that investing in education for their people is as good as investing in their country’s industrialized and modern future. This law only refers, by birth or naturalization, to the people of Argentina.
Any foreign or international student who has lived in Argentina for two years after reaching the age of 18 can apply to become an Argentine citizen and will be eligible if the student can provide proof of residency. Only then will the learner benefit from free education. However you can still enjoy the country’s educational offers even though you are not one of their residents, but you are expected to pay the university’s minimum tuition fee and miscellaneous fees.
What are the languages of instruction for universities in Argentina?
Spanish is the primary language used or spoken by locals in Argentina and this is also the adapted language of instruction at some of the country’s universities, such as University of Palermo & University of Buenos Aires. In addition, both universities offer English courses to foreign or international students specializing in various fields of study. Most universities offer the same courses in both languages, but for foreign students with high satisfaction rates, these two are the most popular universities.
