University of Alabama Scholarships (Undergraduate)

Based on GPA and SAT/ACT ratings, Alabama scholarships are awarded. If you have a particular GPA and SAT/ACT ratings, then you can earn University of Alabama Scholarships for that range automatically. These scholarships are also for students both domestically and abroad.

In 2018, the University of Alabama changed its stance on scholarships. The university offered full Presidential tuition scholarships in 2017, but it has changed the amount of the scholarship to $25,000 a year which is significantly less than full-tuition. It has also added another category of scholarships for those who have earned perfect GPA and perfect SAT/ACT grades, called the Presidential Elite Scholarships.

University of Alabama Academic Scholarship

  1. Presidential Elite- For all four years, one year of room, $1,000 per year stipend for four years, $2,000 for summer research or international study, and $500 book allowance for all years students who have received 36 ACT or 1600 SAT and 4.0 GPA will automatically be eligible for full tuition scholarships.
  2. Presidential- Students with 33 ACT or 1490 SAT or higher and 3.5 GPA will be eligible for $25,000 a year automatically.
  3. UA Scholar- For four years ($17,976 per year), students with 30-32 ACT or 1390-1480, and 3.5 GPA would automatically be eligible for 2/3 tuition scholarships.

University of Alabama Engineering Scholarship

These scholarships are only open to students planning on majoring in engineering. For students who are majoring in other academic areas, there are other grants, but those are not automatic.   • Engineering Leadership Tier- Students who have won 30 ACT or 1390 SAT or higher will receive a scholarship of $2,500 per year, placed on top of the Academic Scholarship
  • Dean’s Engineering Excellence Tier- Students with 27-29 ACT scores or 1280-1380 SAT scores will earn a $1,500 scholarship each year, placed on top of the Academic Scholarship

Application Deadlines

The application opens on 1 August and closes on 15 December for acceptance of scholarships at the University of Alabama. Students need to apply and not the Common Application through the University of Alabama portal. This university does not recognize, and uses its own application, the Standard Application or Coalition Application.

How to Apply for Alabama University Scholarships

You would need to have SAT or ACT ratings, which are college entrance tests in the USA, to be eligible for these scholarships. If you are majoring in engineering, those with 33 ACT or higher and 1490 SAT or higher will earn a nearly full tuition scholarship and an extra $2,500 a year.

About the School

The University of Alabama provides its students with special services. One, the University of Alabama’s Cooperative Education Program, or Co-op, is very famous. This program allows students to work in the associated area of their studies while studying full-time for a year. Students enrolled in this program will alternate between working for a semester and preparing for the next semester. This training would greatly assist learners in getting a job afterwards. Students who complete a co-op year will earn the co-op distinction in their transcripts. Mercedes-Benz is one of the best established co-op partners in engineering.

And at the University of Alabama, the Honors College is also excellent. The criteria for being admitted to the Honors College are 28 on the Latest Sat ACT or 1310 and 3.5 on the GPA. There are many benefits to entering the Honors College, including priority enrollment (a big advantage in a large university), smaller honor classes, living and learning in a comfortable honors dormitory with the brightest students, and many social activities for honors students. The University Scholars Program is another program specific to the University of Alabama that requires students in their senior year to earn Master’s or Doctorate credits. For his graduate degree, the classes that a student takes in his senior year would be counted. Some students will concurrently earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, while some will need more time to complete a Master’s degree.
